Driver of car taken to hospital after St Bees crash

A DRIVER has been taken to the hospital after a crash between a car and a tractor this morning (Tuesday, August 19).

Cumbria Police received a call at 10:22 am reporting a collision in West Cumbria.

The incident happened at the junction of St Bees Road and William Pit Road, near St Bees.

The road was closed, and police urged motorists to avoid the area while recovery work took place.

They confirmed that the driver of the car, a Mini, was taken to the hospital.

A spokesperson said: "Recovery of both vehicles was ongoing until around 12:45 pm when the road reopened."
