The last Cumbrian Trader's Market of the summer season is happening this week in Whitehaven.

The markets will take place on Friday, August 26, in St Nicholas Gardens, Whitehaven from 10am to 4pm.

A wide range of traders selling everything from gin to crafts, cheese and smoked foods will be present. The markets are organised by Whitehaven Town Council's events group and are now in their third successful year.

Gerard Richardson MBE said: "These markets have been growing in popularity and it’s lovely to welcome the traders and shoppers alike.

"It puts a bit of much needed life in the town centre so I’m going to miss them for the next three months. I definitely need to stock up and I hope a few others have the same idea."

The final Market of the year is the Christmas one on Friday, December 2.

If any Cumbrian food or craft business would like a free space at future markets, they can contact Gerard or email clerk@whitehaventowncouncil.co.uk.
