If you paused, reflected and gave a modicum of thought to what is going on behind the scenes, you would be able to see past the steady drip, drip of your self imposed brain washing programme. 2018 date assumes that (a)Thorp manage to deal with all the difficult stuff that's been left til last and (b) the regulators agree that it is safe to use thorp storage pond as an interim store for the next 70 years. Very different story if these don't get sorted.
