Summer’s brighter in Woodhouse

WOODHOUSE youngsters enjoyed a range of activities during their summer playscheme.
It was sponsored by the Sellafield Unions, who stepped in at the last minute to help kick-start the annual event.
Katrina MacEwan, Woodhouse Family Advice Centre manager, said: “We appealed to the unions as a matter of urgency and, between Unite and Prospect, enough was raised to start the first week of activities.
“The children would like to say thank you to them for their fast action and generosity. Following this, funding came in from Children in Need and The Home Group and an excellent time was had by all.’’
The Family Advice Centre also provides various activities including holiday play-schemes, after-school club, advice and support, buffets, complimentary therapy, accredited training and is an office base for Whitehaven & Egremont District Credit Union.
Anyone interested in any of these activities can contact the Centre by phoning 01946 67645.
