Objectors fight 260ft turbine

PLANS to install a wind turbine on land at Moorside Farm, Drigg have prompted an outcry from local residents who have raised a storm of objection and a petition.

Have your say

I don't think Phil Holmes has quite got the message. We DO NOT WANT WIND TURBINES ANYWHERE IN DRIGG OR THE SURROUNDING AREA

As regular visitors to the Drigg area we are appalled to read that a wind turbine may be installed on Moorside Farm, Drigg. One of the nicest parts of staying in Drigg is the beautiful view across to the Lake District Fells. A wind turbine will damage both the beauty and the tranquility of this rural environment.
A recent Australian Senate enquiry has noted the negative effect of wind turbines on the health of those who live nearby.
If the proposed wind turbine isn't rejected for its negative impact on the environment it should be rejected because of its negative impact on the health of residents.

A 250 ft tall windmill in this beautiful, quiet area of Drigg and Seascale is an outrage. It will be seen for miles and miles around in what is well known as Britain's most outstanding and beautiful view. There is plenty of spare land available out near the the Nuclear Waste Dump the other side of Drigg and out of harms way. Why don't they build it there if they must.

The photos the developers put forward for these pathetically inefficient very expensive machines are always suspect. After all they're trying to kid us that the impact is going to be slight when in fact it's always dreadful.
Wind turbines are the most expensive way to produce power and is putting 8p per kwh on top of our bills in subsidy payments. What a con.
