Roadshow promotes website for youths

A ROADSHOW designed to find out what young people think about health information is coming to Whitehaven.
The rollercoaster roadshow will be in town April 10 and will include fairground side stalls, mini games and theme park ticket prizes.
It will allow staff from Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to ask young people for their views on how a website designed to help them cope with the ups and downs of growing up should be developed.
The ‘life is a rollercoaster’ website (www.rollercoaster.nhs.uk) includes information on how to cope with issues such as anger, worry, sexual health and drug and alcohol issues.
Now the trust is planning to develop the site to include a broader range of health issues faced by younger people including physical health and healthy lifestyle issues.
It has developed a survey to ask young people how they would like to see the site developed and is working with schools and clubs to ensure views are gathered.
Debbie McKenna, of the trust, said: “Initially we are looking at adding information about adopting a healthy lifestyle and coping with health conditions such as asthma and diabetes at school. We then want to ask young people how they would like to see the site develop.”
