X Factor winner Steve Brookstein will be playing a special one-off live show in Cumbria this summer.

A well-established jazz and soul singer, the chart-topping star will be performing an intimate acoustic gig at the Florence Arts Centre, in Egremont, on Friday June 23.

Having won the first-ever series of The X Factor, receiving six million votes, he went on to reach the number one spot in the UK charts with both his debut single, Against All Odds, and his first album, Heart and Soul.

Overshadowed by a spat with judge and label manager Simon Cowell, Steve chose to carve his own path, and shunning the reality TV limelight, has made his name as a respected live vocalist.

Steve's soulful tone has allowed him to duet on Yah Mo Be There with five-times Grammy winner BeBe Winans, and support soul legend Dionne Warwick. He co-produced and wrote with jazz singer and wife, Eileen Hunter, on her self-titled debut album, and starred in the UK tour of Olivier Award-winning production Our House.

The Cumbrian appearance is just Steve and his guitarist, up close and personal.

His most recent album, Forgotten Man - dedicated to the great soul singers of years gone by - was released in 2014, and material from all three records, as well as some well-chosen and instantly recognisable cover songs will feature in the live set in June.

Tickets for the show are available from the Florence Arts Centre box office now.
