STUNNING sea-inspired paintings by artist of the month Dave Gowers will be on display at Lowes Court Gallery.
Gowers, who was brought up in Margate but now lives on the Cumbrian coast, is inspired by the sea. The paintings he is exhibiting at Lowes Court take the relationship between sea and sky as their main theme.
He uses essentially flat areas on the surface to produce tone, colour and depth. And he blends strands and blazes of bright colour into his work to suggest lights at night from coastal towns or from shipping passing out at sea.

His work will be on show for the whole of October and Lowes Court Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday at 10am to 2pm and until 5pm on Thursdays.
October will also see the start of the annual open exhibition at Lowes Court, which runs from the 4th until the 29th.
Members can submit two pieces of work to the exhibition for free while non-members can exhibit for £3 per piece. The gallery will hold a preview event on Monday, October 3 starting at 6.30pm.
