Whitehaven was transported back to the late 90s, as reunited boy band 5ive performed in the town's Solway Hall on Friday.

They kicked off what is set to be a 90s pop-themed year for Cumbria, with returning gigs later in the year, along with additional appearances from A1 and Atomic Kitten.

However, before the worldwide multi-million record sellers could grace the stage, it was up to West Cumbria's own Collision to warm up the anticipating crowd.

The four-piece cover band played a variety of crowd pleasing hits and mash-ups; from Backstreet Boys, Busted and McFly to Stereophonics and Kings of Leon, even throwing in a cheeky 5ive cover.

The energy was bouncing in the room with some good old audience participation, and everyone on point for every sing-along opportunity. It's clear these guys are very popular in their local scene.

Storm Doris even had her say on the night, causing some travel problems and consequently delaying 5ive's arrival on stage.

However Ritchie, Sean and Scott did thankfully make it, and hit the stage all guns blazing with their cover of We Will Rock You.

The energy was 100 per cent from the get go, and 5ive threw out their biggest hits left, right and centre: Slam Dunk Da Funk, If Ya Getting Down, Everybody Get Up, Let's Dance, and ending the night on a high with Keep On Moving.

It was an evening full of nostalgia, singing, dancing and would it really be a 5ive show without some choreographed boy band moves!

This won't be 5ive's only visit to Cumbria this year, with their next gig at The Forum in Barrow at the end of April.
