CUMBRIA'S police and crime commissioner is set to visit Whitehaven next month.

Peter McCall has launched a consultation to find out people’s views on future policing priorities for the county.

He will be hosting an online consultation event on Thursday, July 14, from 12pm until 2pm.

And he will be visiting Tesco in Whitehaven on Monday, July 25, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.

Mr McCall said: "I really want to hear from you about your views on what the policing priorities should be for the future to make Cumbria an even safer place. Your priorities, your plan.

"This is your chance to have your say about what is important to you in your local area."

"I will be out and about across the county in the next few weeks at surgeries, roadshows and you can also take part by visiting www.cumbria-pcc.gov.uk or ringing 01768 217734 to complete a survey.

He added: "Also, I will be speaking and listening to the Chief Constable, the Police and Crime Panel and our key partners about their views then I will be pulling all the views together to formulate the Police and Crime Plan."

The plan sets out the objectives for the constabulary to deliver policing in the county.
