STUDENTS from Whitehaven's Mayfield School have been getting to grips with golf.
The pupils have enjoyed four taster sessions for the town's professional Mark Mattinson, who said: "I have been teaching golf for 20 years and the Mayfield sessions have been some of the most rewarding and enjoyable."
Mattinson praised the enthusiasm of all students, and added: "It has been a joy to see."
The sessions were funded through Sportivate, in association with Active Cumbria.
Anyone who wants to learn how to play golf, the driving range is open to non-members seven days a week (9.30am to 8pm).
