A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a Maryport boxer turned coach.
Sean Michael Morrin, 32, of Nelson Street, Maryport, has been charged with the murder of William Richardson, 34, of Elizabeth Terrace.
Mr Richardson died on Wednesday after being stabbed outside the Labour Club in Senhouse Street, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The case was referred to Carlisle Crown Court by District Judge Gerald Chalk this morning.
Morrin spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before a judge in Carlisle on Tuesday.
