A new selection of films will be shown in Egremont to celebrate the lives of those who died in 2016.

Florence Arts Centre has announced its In Memoriam programme to run over November and December.

It will start with A Little Chaos (2013) directed by and starring the late Alan Rickman as King Louis XIV.

The season includes tributes to writers, directors and actors including Gene Wilder, Harper Lee, Robin Hardy, David Bowie and Anton Yelchin.

Films at Florence aims to show a mix of classic and contemporary films. Previously, it has commemorated the First World War and organised a short season celebrating LGBT and disability film-making.

To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) on Wednesday at 2pm;

Young Frankenstein (1974) starring Gene Wilder on Sunday, November 20 at 3pm

The Wicker Man (1973) and The Wicker Tree (2011) on Tuesday, November 22 at 7pm

Two Girls and a Sailor (1944) on Wednesday, November 23 at 2pm

Green Room (2015) on Tuesday, November 29 at 7pm

The Hunger (1983) starring David Bowie on Tuesday, December 6 at 7pm.

Tickets for the screenings cost £5 or just £2 for students, over-60s and unwaged. Midweek matinees are free for over-60s (£3 otherwise). An In Memoriam season ticket is available for all eight films costing £15.
