Derren Brown has announced he will visit Cumbria for two shows later this year.

The nation’s favourite dark manipulator of magic and mind control will tour his latest stage presentation, Derren Brown: Underground, which will head to the Sands Centre in Carlisle on Friday August 11 and Saturday August 12.

Direct from its recent sold-out London run, it features a collection of some of the very best of his previous stage work.

Derren said: “It’s not a brand new show, rather an opportunity to see me perform some of my own choice of favourite bits from the past 14 years of touring. Hopefully, it will be just as rewarding an experience for those who have seen me before as it will be for first-timers.”

Jonathan Higgins, the Sands Centre's arts and events manager, said: “We are so pleased to have secured this double date with Derren Brown.

"He is an enigma and has a massive cult following, so both shows are sure to sell out very quickly.

"Tickets for Derren’s last visit in 2010 were snapped up in hours and is still one of the Sands Centre's most talked about shows.”

Derren has toured every year since 2003 and has been watched by an estimated audience of nearly two million people. He has won prestigious Olivier Awards, for his Something Wicked This Way Comes and Svengali shows.

The event is not suitable for those under 12 years of age.

Tickets are on sale from the Sands Centre box office now.
