A FREE funding fair is being held for community groups and voluntary organisations next week.

The event will be held at Whiitehaven Golf Club on Thursday (July 14) from 10am until 3pm.

It is being organised by Cumbria CVS and is aimed at voluntary and community groups in Copeland and Allerdale, especially those new to seeking funding.

People will be able to speak directly to funders, access essential funding information, advice and support and network with other local organisations.

Funders include Cumbria County Council, Cumbria Community Foundation, the Arts Council, Hadfield Trust, Francis C Scott Trust, Heritage Lottery Fund, the Big Lottery Fund, Charity Bank, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and BBC Children in Need. Organisers say the event is free, but all places must be booked in advance.

People do not need to attend for the full session, but it is advised for them to allow at least one hour to make best use of their time and speak to all relevant funders.

The following sessions are available 10am to 12pm or 1pm until 3pm. Registration for both sessions will start 15 minutes beforehand. Organisers say bookings on the day will incur a £10 booking fee.

Small local voluntary and community organisations and/or those new groups in Allerdale and Copeland will get priority booking, along with CVS members.
