A FUN afternoon and holiday lunchpacks will be available from the North Lakes Foodbank.

On Friday, July 29, there will be a seaside-related crafts afternoon. Youngsters can create sand pictures, make a windmill or paint with fishes.

They will also get the chance to try Maypole dancing, listen to stories and enjoy refreshments.

The event, which takes place at the Meeting Place, Egremont Methodist Church, Main Street, comes as the foodbank launches its summer holiday lunchpacks for children.

It is a free event but the foodbank is grateful for any donations of food from its appeal list. The list can be found on the North Lakes Foodbank Facebook page.

North Lakes Foodbank feeds around 500 people a month in short term crisis, within Copeland and Allerdale.

It collects food from supermarkets, churches, schools and community groups. For more information visit www.thefoodbank.org.uk.
