A photography competition set up to showcase everything Copeland has to offer opens this week.

The Beacon Museum plans to produce a calendar for 2018 that represents the area, including its residents, landmarks and traditions - and there will be an accompanying exhibition during summer 2017.

Winners, including junior (under 18) winners, will get a behind the scenes tour of the museum and will be able to preview the new 'Snakes' exhibition before it is opened to the public.

All photos must have been taken within Copeland but there are no other restrictions on content. A panel of three independent judges will be decided to choose the winning entries.

To enter submit images in person, as prints, or via email to The Beacon Museum. Deadline for entries is Sunday, April 30.
