CLASSIC films will be on show at Florence Arts Centre as a new club launches this month.

Stars - including Leonardo di Caprio, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alicia Vikander, Tom Hiddleston, Taron Egerton, Kit Harrington and Kirk Douglas - will all be on screen.

The club plan to show a selection of classics, forgotten gems and recent releases that might have been missed in the cinema.

It will kick off with a free showing of Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo and Juliet' on Sunday, June 19 at 3pm, during the centre's midsummer celebrations.

Screenings will take place in the centre's theatre and tickets will cost £5, with £2 concessions for seniors, students and children.

"We hope to have special introductions, Q and As and themed seasons to tie-in with our other events and exhibitions," said Florence's Building and Marketing Manager Craig Carruthers.

"The first series of films after Romeo and Juliet will be a season commemorating the centenary of the First World War."

The films set to be shown are: Sunday, July 10 - Warhorse (2011), Sunday, July 17 - Paths of Glory (1957), Sunday, July 24 - Testament of Youth (2014). There is also a free screening of All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) scheduled Sunday, July 31. All films will start at 3pm.
