Cleator Moor continues to be awash with Christmas cheer as the town's festive celebrations continue this week.

Following on from a successful Christmas lights switch-on and market, the Bethlehem in Cleator Moor event begins on Thursday at the Methodist Church, to which Mary will be arriving on a real donkey.

The traditional nativity begins at 6.30pm and will involve the 3rd Cleator Moor Beavers, Cleator Moor Brass Band and the Arlecdon School Choir.

Refreshments, including mince pies and alcohol-free mulled wine, will be provided after the show.

Any money raised will be donated to the Cleator Moor Howgill centre as the Beavers want to help other children have a special Christmas.

The event continues on Friday with a carol service at the church at 2pm, and the blessing of the crib takes place in the Square on Tuesday, December 13 at 5pm.

And on Thursday, December 15 (7pm to 9pm), Cleator Moor Brass play a Christmas Concert in Keekle Village Hall. Tickets are £5 (including refreshment) from Ida on 01946 813961 or Ann on 07920828209.
