Airbourne warfare and NATO in Iraq will be covered at a free lecture at The Samuel Lindow Building, Westlakes.
Held on Tuesday, October 18, the talk will be given by Gordon Slater, an ex-RAF officer, who will describe the evolution of combat aircraft EW capabilities and tactics from the Lightning and Vulcan era, through to the end of the Cold War in 1991.
Mr Slater will also discuss how the capabilities of NATO were employed to devastating effect against Iraq, following its failure to withdraw from Kuwait.
The event, organised by IET West Cumbria, will see refreshments served from 6pm, with the lecture starting at 6.30pm.
