Eskdale Arts Festival will holding its annual show over the bank holiday weekend.

St Bega’s School will host the exhibition, which features a stunning array of paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, cards, ceramics, glass and jewellery, and all proceeds will go to the school.

Pupils will also have an outside stall selling plants, books and crafts which they have been making in their art club.

Organised by the Friends of Eskdale School, and now in its 25th year, the exhibition is free and open from Saturday until Monday, from 10am to 4.30pm.

Madonna Adams, chair of governors, said: " These 25 years have been very beneficial to St Bega’s School with just under £100,000 raised for the school. All of this money is used on the children of the school.

"At St Bega’s every child has swimming lessons not just those in years 5 and 6 and residential trips to London, York or to activities centres are 50 percent funded by proceeds from Eskdale Art."

This year, artists will include David Pooley, Rose Bradbury, Mark Pearce, Venus Griffiths, Jakki Barratt and Anthony Pendlebury.

Photographs from Mark Gilligan, the winner of the Sunday Times Amazing Moments section of the Landscape Photographer of the Year Award, will also be available.
