A charity has teamed up with business students to raise money.

Hospice At Home West Cumbria and business students at Lillyhall’s Lakes College are organising the Ladies Lunch. Catering students will cook a two-course meal for guests in their award-winning Graduates restaurant.

Guest speaker Jane Hasell-McCosh, hospice care advocate and founder of the Dalemain Marmalade Festival and Awards, will talk about study of international marmalade making.

Jeanette McCallig, business management student at Lakes College, said: “The event has been a great way for the students to understand the requirements of running an event.

“It has been very helpful in developing their personal skills and dealing with external customers.

“I am really proud of all their hard work and cannot wait to see the final results.”

Sandra Sedgwick, head of finance, marketing and income generation at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for all you lovely ladies to catch up with friends and meet new people, while supporting the work of Lakes College and Hospice at Home West Cumbria.”

The event is due to take place on Thursday, October 13 at 1pm.
