A Whitehaven actor will appear in a reality TV show tonight.

Calvin Davidson, originally from Bransty, will star in E4’s Coach Trip: Road to Marbella.

Calvin, who now lives in Montrose, Scotland, has also been named Mr Scotland for the past two years.

The former St Benedict’s School pupil will make his reality TV debut on at 7.30pm when Coach Trip gets under way.

He said: “I applied with my friend Conrad who I met back in 2015 at a modelling competition in London.

“The whole concept has been changed on Coach Trip now. It used to be mixed ages doing boring things but since the Geordie Shore production team took it over it’s all 18 to 30s with lots of partying. It has been the best thing I have ever done!”

The show sees Calvin and his friend Conrad Williams take part in activities and check out the local nightlife with other teams of two.

At the end of each day, the pairs will vote to decide who they no longer wish to travel with.

Calvin, who works for a security team when he’s not attending castings, will appear in cinemas across the country when the new T2 Trainspotting film is released, after he secured a role as an extra in three scenes.

Also on the coach will be Adam Fearon, of Maryport, who works at the Vodafone shops in Workington and Whitehaven and is training to be a make-up artist.
