Britain's Energy Coast has purchased its sixth building at Westlakes Science and Technology Park in Moor Row.

The company, which specialises in operating, developing and regenerating property and is responsible for the park’s operation, has bought Robinson House.

The company is already responsible for the operation of Westlakes and owns and directly manages five other buildings with commercial office space on the site.

Michael Pemberton, BEC’s chief executive, said: “The opportunity to bring Robinson House into the BEC Westlakes family arose earlier this year, and we are delighted to announce that the deal has been finalised.

“The building is in a great location and we are pleased that Robinson House’s quality tenants, Nuvia Ltd and Shepley Engineering Ltd, will remain.”

The purchase follows the addition of the Old Trade Board building at Cleator Moor to the BEC portfolio earlier this year.

Since April, profits generated from its commercial property portfolio are used to support community projects across both Allerdale and Copeland. In particular, it supports those with a focus on low-carbon power.

“The site has good management value and makes great financial sense for BEC,” Mr Pemberton added.
