Youngsters at Arlecdon School have been treated to a host of activities at a recent school sleepover.

Teacher Emily Stafford said it was organised for the children, aged between four and seven, to prepare them for when they go on residential trips later on in Key Stage 2.

“A lot of them have never been away from home so this a good chance for them to stay away from home, but in a place they are used to,” said Miss Stafford.

She said there was a mix of activities for the youngsters in Year 1 and 2 during the sleepover at the school.

“It was really good. We did some parachute games and we sang as though we were singing around a camp fire.”

Youngsters also toasted marshmallows and watched the 2016 animated film The Secret Life of Pets.

The school is taking part in numerous projects including the Bright Stars entrepreneurial competition. A circusology day is also being held at the school on March 21 to mark Comic Relief.
