A NEW Whitehaven nursery has said it already has plans to upgrade its premises just months after opening.
Rainbow City is a children's role play mini town with a softplay located on Haig Pit in Whitehaven.
The play centre consists of seven rooms including a hairdressers, construction site, post-office supermarket, vets, doctors and a fire station.
The play centre which is open 6 days a week and offers party bookings, also has Café which serves hot food, cakes and drinks.
Owner Sophie Ennis said: "We are the only play centre like this until Newcastle way."
Rainbow City opened in November 2023 after Sophie decided she wanted to find a career that worked around her own children, she said: "I wanted to give others the opportunity to work somewhere that would work around them having kids too.
"We decided on a role play play centre because we have lots of soft plays around here and we wanted to be different, somewhere the kids haven't seen before and something we knew they would love!"
Since opening, Sophie says that "business has been great" and spoke of how grateful she is for everybody's support.
However, she also has big plans to eventually upgrade Rainbow City, saying: "We plan on upgrading all of our rooms eventually, we have a second unit on the back of the one we already have and are planning something for the older kids.
"We also have a garden that we are hoping to open this year too. Our hopes are to keep upgrading, expanding and bringing lots of new fun events to the area."
