POLICE have charged a man with the murder of a woman in west Cumbria.
Paul Irwin, aged 50, of George Street, Whitehaven is charged with the murder of Tiffany Render, 34, also of Whitehaven.
He was also charged with sexual assault.
Irwin appeared before Workington Magistrates Court today (March 26) and was remanded into custody.
He is due to appear before Carlisle Crown Court tomorrow (March 27).
The charge follows an investigation after officers were called to a property on George Street, Whitehaven at around 11.45pm on March 22 2024.
