PHOENIX Advice and Guidance Team is shifting its schedule to step up support for Millom residents.

From April 1, the team will be available every Tuesday from 10.30am to 3pm at the IT Centre in Millom Community Hub, replacing their previous Friday slot.

This move aims to ensure that residents in Millom have access to accredited face-to-face support on a one-to-one basis on matters including Universal Credit, job search support, benefit evaluation, and assessment services.

To tackle the cost-of-living crisis, guidance targeted at low-income families will also be made available.

In addition to advice, free use of the on-site computers and internet connection allows individuals to carry out job searches, claims, and applications.

Lead advice and guidance worker, Grace Starkey said: "We are excited to announce this change in schedule to better accommodate the needs of the Millom community.

"By shifting our presence from Fridays to Tuesdays, we hope to make it easier for residents to access the support and assistance they require for their employment and financial support."
