THE landlords of the General Burgoyne in Great Urswick have announced its immediate closure and will cease operations from today (March 20).
A spokesperson from the pub issued a statement on social media.
It said: "It's with regret that we announce the closure of The General Burgoyne. Despite our efforts, we've struggled to garner sufficient support from the community. Effective from today we will cease operations. We appreciate the patronage of those who did support us. Thank you."
The current management took over from the pub after it last closed in May 2023.
The pub is owned by Robinsons Brewery.
