THIS week our Trader of the Week is Press Coffee, an independent outdoor van which sells coffee and other refreshments.

This small business will be offering its services to people in Whitehaven in the coming weeks and the stall will be located on the harbourside.

Press Coffee has operated at Whitehaven harbour, amongst other places, and it has seen great success. With many of those passing by stopping to get a coffee or another type of drink or snack.

Brian Hold, the owner at Press Coffee, said: "I've got a coffee van with a coffee machine and grinder in the back, so I'll be going to the harbour to sell coffee, biscuits, crisps and pop.

"I'm from Workington but I've worked in Whitehaven quite a bit for some companies. I set up Press Coffee in July last year and I finished work in October to run it full time.

"It's went very well so far, through the winter it's usually unheard of for coffee vans to make a lot of strides in but I've managed to make quite a lot in a short period of time.

"I worked for a coffee shop and the dream was always to do things for myself rather than let other companies get me to make them money.

"So, I decided to go for it, it's always something that I've really wanted to do is to prove that I can do it.

"My son and I run the business and his name is Luke Hold and he works part time for me.

"I'll be starting this spring on a trial period for a month and will just be operating on normal days if I works then I'll be there full time.

"I've worked my stall on the harbourside before I was there in December for the fireworks display night. That night went very well for me it was really good."

Brian explains that he is just trying to provide a good coffee for a good price so people will want to come to his van.
