A road in Whitehaven is set to reopen following over a month of roadworks
A notice had been served by Cumbria County Council on May 17 to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out utility works.
From May 17 to June 25, all vehicles have been prohibit from proceeding along that section of Central Road, Whitehaven from its junction with Hilltop Road extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 100m.
For the remainder of the restrictions, a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Hilltop Road, Saltom Road and the unrestricted section of Central Road.
Exemptions do apply and can be found upon request through the Highways Hotline.
