Joe Robson, of Hensingham, and Nick Robinson, of Mirehouse, were on their cycles for 20 hours a day to complete the ride from Edinburgh Castle to London Bridge – and back again.
On Tuesday, the men handed over the cheque to the unit who looked after Joe’s twin daughters, Isabella and Olivia, when they were born prematurely.
Joe said: “It has been a very hard journey but one that has been worth it. I have met some amazing people on this challenge. Friends for life is a phrase that is often used lightly but on this occasion it rings true.
“Thank you so much to all the people that have been behind us supporting us from day one.’’
Among those the men thanked for support were their own Edinburgh- London-Edinburgh team, local cycling clubs, Ainscough, Shepleys and Tony Roberts Carpets.
