A TRIBUTE to country music star Patsy Cline will hit the stage in Whitehaven next month.

The record breaking recording artist spent 251 weeks in the Country Music Album charts in the US, and went on to become a world renowned performer.

In this stage show, Patsy Cline & Friends, accomplished performers run through her best known songs, as well as some of her late 1950s and early 1960s contemporaries.

Playing the lead role and singing Patsy's hits when the show visits the Solway Hall, in Whitehaven, on Friday October 13, will be life-long fan Sue Lowry.

Sue was brought up by parents who had their own band and played all around Great Britain, performing country music from the era.

Her powerful rendition of Crazy, Sweet Dreams and I Fall to Pieces will take audiences back to those Honky Tonk days of pure country music.

Joining Sue will be Marc Robinson, who has been up to now renowned for playing Buddy Holly. Here he will pay tribute to the granddaddy of country music, Hank Williams, with songs that include Howlin’ at the Moon, I Saw the Light, and Rootie Tootie.

Roger Bird performs a sensitive tribute to Jim Reeves with his authentic costume and iconic mesmerising voice, performing Welcome to My World, Distant Drums, and Bimbo.

Patsy Cline was a down-to-earth country girl, whose glittering career was cut short when she died in a plane crash aged just 30.

For this live tribute night, audiences are encouraged to attend in Western wear.

The show starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the Civic Hall box office.
