TWO world-renowned jazz singers have announced appearances at the Rosehill Theatre, in Whitehaven, later this year.

Acclaimed American vocalist Stacey Kent will bring her stellar group of musicians to the venue on Friday October 26, and Jacqui Dankworth, daughter of Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth, appears on Saturday December 1.

Grammy nominated, platinum-selling singer Stacey Kent is touring her new album, I Know I Dream, which features a remarkable collection of songs, including bossa nova classics, chansons and American standards alongside reprises of much-loved favourites.

She has a legion of fans worldwide, a host of honours and awards, and album sales in excess of two million. Her international touring schedule keeps her on the road for most of the year and her welcome return to the UK will allow audiences an opportunity to enjoy this incredible talent live in concert.

December's star guest, Jacqui Dankworth, arrives with her show Jazz Sirens.

The diverse repertoire, arranged and curated by Jacqui, is dedicated to the most iconic vocalists of the 20th Century and the singers who defined The Great American Songbook, including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone and Peggy Lee.

She will be the fifth member of the Dankworth family to perform at Rosehill Theatre, following appearances by her father, mother, brother Alec and Alec's daughter, Emily.

She will be accompanied by Charlie Wood, a singer and pianist who has seen success across both the US and UK, having grown up immersed in jazz, blues and old-school R&B soul.

Tickets for both shows are available now from the venue's box office.
