THE summer heat is really set to rise when comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli heads to Whitehaven to whip up an Indian-inspired supper.

The Scottish broadcaster and stand-up will recount his life and times in his own comic style, and team up once more with Rosehill Theatre's head chef Jon Fell.

This event on Saturday July 28 follows the success of Hardeep's visit to Rosehill earlier this year for a Burns Night special, and is presented as part of the weekend's Taste Cumbria food and drink festival in Whitehaven.

Hardeep is a much-respected and award-winning broadcaster, comedian, writer and chef. He also sits on the board of the National Theatre of Scotland. He is well known for BBC Radio 4 shows such as Hardeep's Sunday Lunch and Pick of the Week, and has regularly fronted programmes for BBC Radio 2, BBC World Service and BBC Asian Network.

As well as performing at Rosehill earlier this year, his previous visits have been for his shows The Nearly Naked Chef and Chat Masala.

The event on Saturday 28 starts at 6.30pm in the foyer - or outside if the weather is good - for a two-course Indian-themed supper followed by the performance in the auditorium at 8pm.

Tickets, which include the supper, are available from the Rosehill Theatre box office.
