A TRIO of top circuit comedians will be heading to Whitehaven for a night of stand-up comedy.

Steve Shanyaski, Eddy Brimson and Steffen Peddie make up the bill for the show at The Gaiety cinema on Saturday July 28.

The headliner for the night, Manchester-based Shanyaski, has been well-regarded comic for 15 years, making it through to the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedian of the Year in 2003 - just a few months after starting out.

He also appeared in the North West Comedian of the Year Final in 2003, and had the honour of appearing on the BBC7 Radio showcase Spanking New.

Since then he has added to his list of accolades by being named the Holsten Pils Comedian of the Year and appeared on Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks show on ITV.

Critically-acclaimed stand-up Eddy Brimson is one of the UK circuit's most in-demand headline acts, working regularly with all the leading promoters.

Equally at home internationally, having taken to the stage from Norway to China - and just about everywhere in between - he was one of the first-ever comics to perform in Myanmar and invitations to perform at the Altitude Festival in the French Alps, the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and both the Melbourne and Perth Comedy Festivals in Australia have secured his place in the comedy industry.

North-East stand-up Steffen Peddie joins them on the bill. A former professional wrestler-turned-comedian, he regularly performs in his hometown of Newcastle, but also makes appearances at comedy festivals across the UK.

He has also supported American wrestler Mick Foley on his UK stand-up tour in 2011, and appeared in 2012 BBC2 sitcom Hebburn.

The show on Saturday July 28 starts at 8.30pm, and tickets are available from The Gaiety box office.
