DOUBLE Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, and winner of the Best Irish Comedian award, Andrew Maxwell will be visiting the region on his latest tour.

The TV panel show regular performs Showtime at the Rosehill Theatre, in Whitehaven, next year.

With this hit Edinburgh Fringe show, Maxwell continued his long run of domination of the festival, serving up a memorable cocktail of personal stories, astute political observations and the odd surprise foray into character cameos.

It won yet another barrage of five-star reviews for one of the festival's most universally-acclaimed acts.

Now, it's 'showtime' for the rest of the country, as he takes it on tour across the UK.

Maxwell is known for his eagle-eyed, passionate current-affairs comedy, showcased in his many appearances on BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, Welcome To Wherever You Are, and Public Enemies.

Also regularly appearing on the small screen, he's been seen on - among others - BBC shows Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News for You and Mock the Week, as well as ITV2's Celebrity Juice, and to a whole new generation he is the devilish voice of MTV's Ex On The Beach.

Making his stand-up debut in Dublin in 1992, aged 18, he was soon a regular warm-up act for British TV shows, including Jonathan Ross, Johnny Vaughan, and They Think It's All Over.

He was voted the "King of Comedy" on the Channel 4 reality TV show of the same name in 2006, making his mark and establishing himself to a much wider audience than before.

Andrew Maxwell brings Showtime to the Rosehill Theatre on Saturday May 18, 2019, and tickets are available from the venue's box office now.
