WHITEHAVEN Rugby League have faced another defeat over the weekend.
The West Cumbrian side faced a 40-12 defeat away at Sale.
Haven took on former Whitehaven RL head coach Anthony Murray's side, the Swinton Lions.
Whitehaven coach James Newton was dissatisfied with the result. He spoke to Jordan Weir about the game.
Mr Newton said: "Congratulations to Swinton and Muzza, well done on the win.
"For us, we go 12-0 down, we get back into the game, 12 all at halftime. We come out in the second half, and we start off really well in that set-to-set scenario.
"We start getting some field position, then we let them off the hook with a penalty, and next thing, they were on our try line, and they scored.
"We're just not recovering from those situations at the minute, and as I said before, I've questioned every individual in there with mental toughness. I don't think we've got it at the moment."
"We looked at Swinton on video this week, and we said that they'd come directly at us at yardage, they wouldn't play much the same.
"That's exactly what we did, and physically we didn't bar up. When they subbed us in and got those opportunities through the middle, they took them. We were very poor physically."
He continued: "I think we had plenty of good ball in the second half, but again we looked real clunky, and because we weren't breaking their line and trying to make stuff up out of the blue instead of being a little bit more direct with our lead runs and squaring up out the back.
"I'm not worried about the attack; it's defensively the way that Swinton went through us that I'm disappointed with, because like I said, we trained really well this week.
"I spoke to you on Friday, and I said that I wanted to see that reflected on the pitch, and we're just not quite there at the minute."
