TWO players have departed a rugby league club with immediate effect.
Whitehaven RLFC has confirmed the departure of Joe Lowe and Aaron Turnbull, after they approached the club to express that they do not feel they are currently in a position to meet the demands required to compete at this level.
Aaron cited personal reasons for leaving, while Joe said he was struggling with the training commitments and was no longer enjoying the game.
James Newton, head coach of Whitehaven RLFC, said: "I would like to wish Aaron and Joe all the very best in whatever their future holds for them.
"They have both been great servants to the club, and sometimes your personal life comes before rugby league, and that will always be taken into consideration in every decision I make as coach.
"Everyone from the club should respect their decision."
The club said it respected the players’ honesty and felt the decision was ultimately out of its hands.
Aaron is described as a highly regarded local talent.
The club said the door would remain open to him should his circumstances change.
