WHITEHAVEN RL came away with a draw in their most recent game against Midlands Hurricanes.
The West Cumbrian side got a 20-20 draw in their game at home on Sunday, March 8.
This is Haven's first game since former head coach Anthony Murray stepped down.
Interim head coach James Newton spoke about the game. He said: "I set off sat at the back of the stand, and I didn't really sit down as the game went on and slowly edged down the steps, and by the end of the game I was on the touchline.
"The game started really settled and calm, and then the heart rate started going as the game got close, and we had a chance to win at the end. I was a bit all over the place.
"This week has been all over. The lads got addressed on Tuesday, but I've got to give the lads a pat on the back, I'm so proud of them today.
"I think as soon as they found out about the news on Tuesday, they went right into training and applied themselves as me and Gus wanted them to.
"They did the same on Thursday, and you only have to look at that performance today to see how good the effort was.
"To go 12-0 down in the first ten minutes and react the way that they did, I'm just so proud of them.
"We didn't start the game too well, but I didn't feel like Midlands were 12 points better than us.
"I always felt like we were going to have a period in that game where we would come back.
"We spent a lot of time in our own half in the first 15 or 20 minutes; we couldn't get out. We were kicking from our 20-30, and they were catching the ball, starting their sets on the halfway line, and we struggled."
