WHITEHAVEN Rugby League has re-signed Ellison Holgate on a new contract.
The 25-year-old hooker will remain at the club until the end of the 2027 season after an impressive debut year in the professional game.
Mr Holgate scored nine tries in 18 appearances and made his professional debut in a Challenge Cup clash against Warrington.
He started at hooker in 11 of the final 12 games of the season, firmly establishing himself in the number nine shirt.
Anthony Murray, head coach at Whitehaven Rugby League, said: "After making the step up from the community game, Ellison has shown just how capable he is at this level.
"He had an outstanding debut season and really announced himself as a professional player.
"His attitude, work ethic, and natural ability have all stood out, and it’s clear he has a very bright future ahead of him.
"There are no limits to how far he can go in the game, and we’re delighted he’s chosen to continue his journey with us."
Mr Holgate’s performances earned him two awards at the club’s end-of-season presentation: the Pep Graham Memorial Award and the coaches’ player of the year.
