JAKE Pearce has re-signed with Whitehaven Rugby League Club on a one-year deal.

The 25-year-old forward, who joined ahead of the 2025 season, will now remain at The Ortus Rec until the end of 2026.

Mr Pearce made his professional debut last season in a Challenge Cup win against Swinton Lions and went on to make 16 starts, scoring two tries.

Anthony Murray, head coach of Whitehaven RLFC, said: "Jake Pearce made a huge impact in his first season in the professional game.

"He’s a player who gives absolutely everything every time he takes the field — aggressive in the right way, but always controlled and disciplined.

"He leads from the front and sets the standard for those around him.

"His recent selection for Cumbria, where he faced Nigeria, is a great reward for the hard work and commitment he’s shown.

"We’re delighted he’s agreed to re-sign and continue his journey with us — he’s got all the qualities you want in a player and a teammate."

Mr Pearce capped his debut season by representing Cumbria in their 70-6 victory over Nigeria.

He previously played for the England Community Lions before turning professional.
