Two players have left Whitehaven Rugby League Club after just one season.

Clarke Chambers and Karl Garner, who joined from Kells, will not be part of the 2026 squad.

Chambers played six matches in the chocolate, blue, and gold, while Garner made five appearances.

They both debuted in the 1895 Cup against Midlands.

Chambers picked up an injury towards the end of the season while on dual registration.

The club will support his rehabilitation and recovery.

Head coach Anthony Murray said: "As we prepare for the new season, we'd like to thank Clark Chambers and Karl Garner who have both decided not to take up a new contract for the upcoming campaign.

"Both players have been committed, hard-working, and valued members of the squad, and we’re extremely grateful for their efforts and professionalism throughout their time with us.

"On behalf of the coaching team and everyone at the club, I want to wish them both all the very best for the future—on and off the field."

The club expressed its gratitude for their contributions over the past season and extended best wishes for their future endeavours.
