Over 500 people watched a memorable international event at Wath Brow on Wednesday.
The Hornets rugby league club had the honour of hosting two age group games against the touring Australian Wanderers.
The touring party, which includes boys and girls teams at various age groups, is from New South Wales and Queensland.
They have been playing matches in England from Sunday and will be here until Friday, 17 October.
Wath Brow were honoured to be the only Cumbrians on the itinerary, and the Giel Park club gave the tourists a warm, hospitable welcome.
The first match was for Under-13s and the Australian youngsters eventually prevailed 18-0.
The second match, for the Under 14s, was a bit tighter with the Hornets eventually going down 22-10.
Wath Brow scored ten late points, all through Ollie Mattinson with two tries and a conversion.
Man of the match for the Under-13s was Theo Hocking, while Jamie Graham took the award for the Under-14s.
