Whitehaven Rugby League has re-signed forward Ellis Nixon until the end of the 2027 season.

Nixon, 20, made 13 appearances and scored two tries during the 2025 campaign, including one on his competitive debut in the 1895 Cup against Midlands Hurricanes.

Nixon was a consistent figure off the bench in four of the final six League 1 games.

Head coach Anthony Murray said: "I am thrilled to confirm that Ellis Nixon will be staying with the club after completing his first year in the professional game.

"His progress over the past 12 months has been outstanding, and securing his future here is another step in our commitment to developing and building around local players.

"We can’t wait to see him continue his journey with us over the coming seasons."

Nixon is the fourth confirmed member of Whitehaven's 2026 squad, with all announced players committing their futures until the end of the 2027 season.

The club has said that there will be more announcements over the coming days and weeks.

Nixon stepped up from CARLA Premier Division side Seaton Rangers and spent time back at Seaton on dual registration, coached by Haven assistant coach Neil 'Gus' Frazer.
