A reduced field at Seascale Golf Club on Wednesday meant only two prizes in Divisions One and Two.

Colin Mitchell (nine) and Steve Sharpe (five) with 37 and 36 points respectively took first and second in Division One, while Ralph Jacklin (14) with the day’s best of 39 won Division Two and, one behind, Ian Fleming (13) got second.

First and second in Division Three went to Martin Fisher (22) and Kenny Burns (16), both on 36, while Gary Fitzwilliam (24) with the best of four 35s took third.

There were four Twos, Billy Curwen claiming two of them.

A full start sheet turned out for Saturday’s Open Texas Scramble when the all-Seascale team of Colin Roberts, S Hodgson, Geof Moody and Alex Hodgson took pride of place with nett 54 off a handicap allowance of nine.

In second with an allowance of 4.875 were another Seascale team of Mike Keenan, Graeme Borrowdale, Tim Goddard and Mark Steele who returned nett 55.125.

Third went to Paul Rickerby, P McGuirk (Workington), M Slee (St Bees) and S Little(St Bees) who returned nett 55.875 off an allowance of 8.125.

In Sunday’s 4BBB, John McCabe(nine) and Graeme Borrowdale (10) won outright with 46 points ahead of Neil Atkinson (20) and Adrian Bartlet (21)45 who beat Bill Jenkinson (eight) and Ralph Jacklin (14) on countback.

Fourth came Stephen Fyfe (12) and Geof Prince (23)44, who beat Keith Hunt (eight) and Peter Thompson (13), again on countback.

There were nine twos and Keith Hunt claimed two.
