The 10th annual running of the Christmas Pudding Race proved popular once more.
The weather was fair and there were even a few glimmers of sunshine in Setmurthy Woods as the race started with 165 runners, most of whom were running in Christmas costumes ranging from lots of Mr and Mrs Santa Clauses, elves, a squirrel, a man with his head in a turkey, reindeers and a Christmas box.
The race was part of Cumberland Fell Runners’ Winter League Series and 34 CFR members ran including Jenny Chatterley, Lindsay Buck and Jane Mottram, who this September won silver medals for Team GB in the World Masters Mountain Running Competition.
Race winner was Joseph Dugdale of CFR, who narrowly missed breaking his course record.
Registration for the 2020 event will be online at Timing Up North.
