Ellenborough’s Jordan Ostle is the Player of the Year for 2019 in the Iggesund Cumberland Amateur Rugby League.

Ostle scored 23 tries, kicked 17 goals and performed well enough to win four Man of the Match awards in the Premier Division.

Another Ellenborough player, Kevin Hoban, was the top try-scorer in the Premier Division with 27 touchdowns.

Glasson’s Gary Taylor was runner-up on 24, with Ostle and Distington’s Gavin Martin joint-third on 23.

Ellenborough also had the top goal-kicker in the Premier Division with 96 from the boot of Owen Hoyles.

Glasson’s Keenan Winter was a close second on 94, with third place going to Sam Curwen of Wath Brow on 81.

Overall, the top points-scorer in the Premier Division was Ellenborough’s Hoyles on 228 points, made up of nine tries and 96 goals, just pipping Wath Brow’s Curwen whose tally was 227, made up of 16 tries, 81 goals and one drop-goal.

Topping the try-scoring list in Division One was last year’s Player of the Year, Cockermouth’s Jack Clark who scored 22 tries this season.

Runner-up was Maryport’s Scott Akehurst on 19 with Kells’ Aaron Burns, Maryport’s Darren Pape and Ross Barton of Aspatria all joint third on 15.

The top goal-kicker in Division One was Cameron Taylor from Kells on 84.

Runner-up was Cockermouth’s Clark on 52 and Aspatria’s Luke Johnson third on 44.

The top points-scorer in the First Division was Taylor of Kells on 200 made up of eight tries and 84 goals.

Cockermouth’s Clark was second on 193 made up of 22 tries and 52 goals, with Aspatria’s Johnson third on 132 from 11 tries and 44 goals.
