England Community Lions continued their New Zealand tour going down 40-24 against New Zealand Maoris.

On tour from West Cumbria are Wath Brow’s Fran King, Karl Dixon and Curtis Teare, Tony Burns from Kells and Kieran Glenn, Tom Horner and Marcus O’Brien from Egremont.

The Lions side, selected by head coach Richard Owen, for the Maoris game included King, Teare, Dixon, Glenn and O’Brien, while Burns was an interchange.

They finish off their tour on Friday against the New Zealand Residents in Auckland.

The Lions have a 22-strong squad out there to provide plenty of cover and options during the games, with hot conditions making for gruelling games so rotation proving key.

Replays of the games are available on the OuRLeague smartphone app, while they have also been shown on Sky Sports NZ.
