Red Bull junior Jonny Edgar hopes to continue his push for success at the final round of the Italian F4 Championship in Monza this weekend.
Monza will wrap up the championship in style and, while Edgar’s team-mate Dennis Hauger already has the title in the bag after the double victory in Mugello, the 15-year-old will be hoping to continue his success in the final trio of races.
Edgar, of Asby, said: “I’m really looking forward to it.
“I tested there a couple of weeks ago and was quick enough compared to the others but not everyone was there.
“Still it was a good chance to learn the track.”
The 15-year-old added: “I like the circuit. It’s going to be fun and I think that the straights and the slipstreaming will give you more chance to pass people.
“You might not have good qualifying, or make a mistake, get pushed off – if anything happens you have more of a chance to overtake at Monza I think.¨
“It makes for more interesting racing also if a driver is saving the tyres in one race – you have the chance to get past, they can’t hold you up so easily.”
Free practice and qualifying is due to take place today, with the first race tomorrow and races two and three on Sunday.
